Impact Teen Drivers was founded through the leadership and support of organizations deeply committed to public service, education, and prevention. The California Association of Highway Patrolmen (CAHP), the California Teachers Association (CTA), and California Casualty recognized the urgent need to address preventable teen crashes and invested in an approach grounded in research, behavioral science, and shared roadway responsibility.

What began in California as a commitment to support law enforcement and educators has grown over nearly two decades into a national effort serving first responders, educators, health professionals, community advocates, and prevention-focused partners nationwide.

The early commitment of our founding sponsors established a strong foundation for evidence-based safety education and set the standard for the work Impact Teen Drivers continues today – supporting communities with proactive, research-informed strategies that reduce risk, prevent injuries, and save lives.
